How ridiculously adorable are these photos of Coco Rocha and her then fiance, now husband James Conran? They're also taken by best model friend and apparently talented photographer Behati Prinsloo... could her life be any more perfect? I also want to dig out my old school SLR and get it fixed now. There are some things that digital photography just can't capture. These are beautiful.

Shocker, Stella Love :

It's fairly obvious that I adore Stella McCartney from this blog alone. And so it takes no guessing to know that I love love loved her latest ad campaign, which follows on quite nicely from her Disney embellished campaigns with an artist collaboration with Barry Reigate.

I love that the photo itself is minimal, as is the dress, the makeup, the setting... but Reigate's little doodles over Stella's name adds the playful touch that we're so used to associating with the brand. Natalia Vodianova looks stunning as ever, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Looks like Stella McCartney isn't the only brand from my list of favourites looking to the art world for their Fall 2010 campaigns... Bottega Veneta's latest ad takes on the feel of Robert Longo's 'Men In Cities' series. I'm thinking this might be a possible dissertation topic... the mingling of fashion and art. Or something like that, decisions = eugh.

Love Launch :

As if Love magazine's blog wasn't enough, Katie Grand and her fabulous team have launched a Love website, packed with Instant Love, Daily Love, Backstage shots and exclusive fashion videos from industry biggies including Louis Vuitton and Commes des Garcons.

I really loved (sorry for the pun) the concept behind their last cover, showcasing some of the world's best current models, and showing that even models in their natural perfection range in shape and size. The same idea has been utilised for the site, which was designed for Grand by freelance art director Johnny Lu.

Alongside the naked likes of Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Naomi Campbell, the homepage sees cutesy cartoon characters floating around, whilst your average mouse cursor is changed into a sleeping bear - based on a life sized Marc Jacobs Steiff teddy bear that Grand sent to Lu's studio whilst he was designing the site.

I do quite love the light hearted spirit of the site, and there are some fantastic backstage shots and personal photos from Katie Grand that keep the site relevant and interesting day after day, but I can't help let the cartoon additions to the site remind me of Stella McCartney's Bambi inspired window displays and campaigns back in AW09.

That was until I saw the latest covers for their Green issue, and I totally fell in love with the Flower Power edition with the gorgeous Angela Lindvall. All three covers are stunning, but I love the colour on Angela's issue.

While I was having the time of my life at the IOW festival this weekend, I was treated to a (much needed) manicure by the lovely team at WAH nails. Now I don't need to express how much I'm dreading the day they begin to chip, because they're kinda awesome. My editor also had her nails done by WAH - many thanks to H&M for bringing them, they were lifesaving for our festival bashed nails - check out the photos below. But also, whilst I was browsing the Dujour magazine blog, I came across this post about nail art, and just how adorable are those lace falsies?! I may have to invest in some this Summer...

Luck isn't something I usually get a lot of. I'm the girl that you know whose car will break down all the time, whose shower would happen to blow up or laptop would bluescreen error midway through a long Photoshop session... But the luck Gods blew some of the nice stuff my way for a weekend, and I got to go to the Isle of Wight festival free, courtesy of H&M.

As if that wasn't amazing enough as it was, my festival, week, month... year was made when I was lucky enough to meet Albert Hammond Jnr. in the VIP tent before The Strokes headlined on the Saturday. As a die hard fan, I've been waiting almost five years for them to go back on tour and visit the UK, and dear god it was worth it. Albert was an absolute sweetheart, and it really made my weekend. So perhaps my luck is changing, or maybe I shouldn't risk jinxing it?

I think it's fascinating that when I look at photographs my Grandma might show me, that all the women look so well groomed and ladylike, so elegant, so sophisticated. Last September, I must admit my year got pretty crazy. I went to Fashion Week, which is something I've been dreaming of since I can't remember when.. and I got to meet some fabulous (understatement) people along the way. One of them being PR genius and Lauren Conrad's famous boss, Kelly Cutrone.

I'm not going to lie, I've never been so scared about approaching someone for an interview - this was fashion week (which, by the way, she was doing the entire PR for), and The Hills had made her renowned for being quite, well, honest - however she couldn't have been any nicer.

While I was interviewing her, we spoke of the Bravo series they were filming her for (Kell On Earth, geddit? I'm not sure when it'll be aired over here), she also told me about the book she had coming out, and eek, I am excited, I pre-ordered my copy last night!

In true Kelly style, 'If You Have To Cry, Go Outside... And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You' is promised to be as sharp, witty and blunt as the PR guru herself. I can't wait for my copy to arrive come February 2nd.

So I've just watched the Burberry menswear live stream, and I've decided that I'd very much like a Burberry boy. Packaged complete with an oversized flying jacket, chunky cream jumper, zip detail trench coat and perfectly slouched satchel bag, in black, for me to 'borrow', please.

Christopher Bailey has proved worthy at the helm of Burberry - successfully working his magic transforming the brand from the emblem of the chav, to the uber cool label it is today. I'd also noticed that he's love love lovin' George Craig, of One Night Only. Not only was George in the SS10 campaign (his second for Burberry), he also sat front row at the menswear collection, and comically bopped along when his own song, 'You and Me' played while the models did their thang. One lucky boy, eh?

I miss Nottingham. Why? Four very good reasons...
1. My uni course. I do Fashion Communication and Promotion, it's like every girl's dream, trust.
2. My friends. We talk about fashion alllll day long, it's amaze.
3. My flat/personal space. My lil chav bro is driving me insane after breaking the internet twice already (my life depends on it), and I can't wait for house times next year with 9 housemates. Eeee!

4... I miss Nottingham Waterstones. Yes, you read it right. My hometown is evidently lame and only supplies the mags that I get delivered to my door, i.e. Vogue and Elle, and the weeklys that I buy anyway. Where are all the glossy foreign Vogues, where on earth is Nylon and I miss Purple!?! I am a massive fashion geek at heart, and I am desperately anticipating the days when I can sit on the carpet on the second to top floor at Waterstones and flick through all the gorgeous mags. So I'm having one of those phases where I want to change my look. Part of that meaning that after growing out a very short bob for two years, I now (annoyingly) want to snip it all off. Instead of that, I have rounded my hair transformation down to three ideas :
1. Dye it dark brown, which I have done before
2. Dye it auburn, which I tried yesterday, although it is more dark brown than auburn, or
3. PERM! Which costs lots of my well earned cash only to be redone in three months time...

So. I think I'm going to stick with trying to go ginga.. I thought I should post a few inspirational images to make me stick at it. And of course, they had to be of my all time model love (and stunning previous redhead) Coco Rocha. This gal is fierce! I think I may have the biggest girl crush on her.

Glasto glamour :

So festival season is in full bloom, as is the festival fashion. I always love when the glossies ask celebs their festival essentials... so I thought it'd be fun to post mine.

There are the obvious choices :
1. A pop up tent. Far less hassle than all that tent putting-up business, and lighter too. Winner!
2. GROUND MATS or something to sleep on other than a sleeping bag... just trust me from experience.
3. Batiste dry shampoo - far cheaper than it's pro-hairdresser rivals, and does the same job.
4. Deoderant body wipes and baby wipes.
5. Wellies. Any kind will do! That said, if anyone would like to purchase me a pair of limited edition Jimmy Choo for Hunter wellies, I am a size 5 (38), and would quite literally love you forever. Here is a photo for reference and a link for ease ;)

As I can't afford the £235 that the Jimmy Choo Hunter's cost, I will be sticking with last year's £8.00 leopard print Primarni wellies, which are strangely available from Miss Selfridge for £22.00 this year. Tapping into affordable designer festival wear, however, I'm happy with my new PPQ mac, available from M&M Direct - £10.

I arrived back from Lanzarote at half past four this morning to the devastating news that Michael Jackson had died.

Gutted.

I love M.J.

I remember Earth Song being the first ever music video that I saw on a music channel, aged 5. Needless to say I loved him ever since. A fantastic singer, dancer, entertainer, we often used his music for dance lessons, competitions... and last year, a full show; 'This Time Around'.

I'm wondering what they're going to do about his comeback tour. Refunds? Or better, I'd like to see the biggest Jacko tribute to date, at Wembley, with the likes of Madonna, Justin, Prince and all other music stars that owe a great deal of inspiration to him. And damn I'd be jealous of the people with tickets for that.

If you don't know MJ and his songs so well, don't just listen to the top hits. Here's just a few of my faves :

Slightly excited, peeps. Well, slightly is an understatement... majorly excited. I'm off to see Mr Pete Doherty tonight at the Rockhouse, supported by James Capper and Tom Campbell. It is going to be AMAZE. The Rockhouse is a fairly small venue, plus he is playing in Derby (which doesn't have the best music scene) so I'm hoping to get pretty close to the Libertine ledge.
In the run up to tonight I've been listening to his stuff, and watching this...

Let Them Eat Kate and I adore this video, makes me kind of wish they were still together. Still, it is cute. I love that he's serenading her. One word.

Total and utter disgust :

I don't ususally post negative comments on my blog, however I came across this advert on a website, and it outraged me that much that I felt the need to blog about it.

I'll admit that I'm not a typical Gucci fan, although I began warming to the brand after their stint of beautiful and exotic ad campaigns for Spring Summer 09, featuring the gorgeous Natasha Poly and even more gorgeous 'Rampling' mega heel.
My respect for the brand however has now been completely thrown out of the window by this one image...

I completely disagree with the use of fur for fashion, or anything for that matter. I can't see why anyone would want to wear twenty chinchillas for the sake of looks, or warmth. However fur on a bag may be the MOST RIDICULOUS IDEA I've came across, ever.

Did Gucci somehow think that their elite consumer wanted to possibly keep their purse warm? I particularly hate that they seem to be playing on the use of fur by including a tail. It actually sickens me.

'It takes twenty years to build a brand, and five minites to distroy it'. Warren Buffet.
Maybe Gucci should bear this in mind when creating their next accessories collection...

So having trawled through all of Style.com's coverage of the Costume Institute Gala, I must say I'm rather disappointed. With 'Model as Muse' as the theme of the night, I was expecting some great pairings, and even greater outfits. My usual muse, Leighton Meester shocked me a little, in a Louis Vuitton dress with matching, clashing (it is possible, trust me!) leggings. If she'd have perhaps left the leggings at home I would have loved the look a little more. Such a shame, she's a stunner.
Not to dwell on the negative, here are some of my favourites from last night;

#1. Kate Bosworth in Stella McCartney

I loved this look from the off, and loved it further when I found out that it was by Stella. Just lovely.

#2. Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson and Stella McCartney, all wearing (you guessed it), Stella McCartney. All three look stunning but I particularly love Stella's jumpsuit. She looks gorgeous.

#3. Diane Kruger in Chanel.
She is so beautiful, I love the entire look... the colour, length, hair, shoes, clutch. Just love.

# 4. Gisele in Versace.
I'm not usually a Versace fan, but you can't deny that Gisele is looking hot right here! The colour is great and the dress shows off her enviable, mile-long pins. If you have it, flaunt it, after all!

#5. Michelle Alves in Marchesa.
Now this is how to do pregnant goddess! Wow!

Also looking fabulous last night were Coco Rocha (on top form! she looked every inch the super model she is), Jessica Stam, and Miranda Kerr, although I can't find photos that do them enough justice yet. I'll try and post them asap. (photo credit : Style.com)xoxo

This week has been a busy one, not to mention unlucky (inc. a car breakdown & my shower blowing up), however today's trip to London went well. London is a fabulous city in that no matter how many times I visit, I keep finding new things every time. Today, I came across the fabulous Temperley shop - in the most unlikely of places - hidden down a side street near Portobello Market, next to an advertising and packaging museum.
One word - LOVE.
Alice Temperley is not only an extremely talented designer, she also has a pretty awesome shop front...

Alongside that, I fell in love with Twenty8Twelve, by the gorgeous Miller sisters. Exquisite shop, fabulous clothes and accessories, particularly shoes and jewellery. Oh, and found a shop with real life lop-eared bunnies in the window display. Not sure if this is cute, or bordering on an animal rights violation...

Still, anything goes in LDN.

So my list of daily online reading is getting longer... hotmail, facebook, twitter, all the gorgeous blogs that I follow, and most recently... LOOKBOOK.nu. The latter has replaced facebook as becoming my downfall. University work due... I'm on lookbook. I need to be at work in 5 minutes... I'm on lookbook. There are seriously farrr too many cool people on there, whose wardrobes are full of fantastical finds and make me realise that I need to experiment way more.

Here's one of my favourite finds to date...

Although I love living in Britain, sometimes the weather can be a bit poor. Now I do love watching the occasional April shower (from the comfort of my warm, dry room, preferably with chocolate and a new fashion mag), however, how AMAZING is April sunshine! After seeing a glimpse of the sun, us Brits wait all of two minutes before happily dragging out the long forgotten summer wardrobe and sunbathing in the garden in a bikini - only for Mr Sunshine to disappear behind a wretched cloud. Not this week, however. The sun has arrived, and (fingers, arms, legs, toes crossed)... is here to stay! Anyone who knows me well enough will be safe in the knowledge that my collection of makeup and cosmetics is far too big. However, that said, there is always room for more, so I thought I'd update on the cosmetics front, as I've been lacking since the Chanel nail varnish.

On the subject of nail varnish, I feel that there is an epidemic occurring... my friends from all over have the new Rimmel 60 second nail polish in (430) Coralicious... I knew Coral would be big for summer, and I have to say I love it too!

Yes, we are all wearing the same colour nail polish..!

Second tried and tested is the new Clinique Supermoisture foundation. I always struggle to get foundation that doesn't completely dry my skin out, however this one literally felt like a moisturiser on my skin, and even made it look dewy, as promised on the advert. I will definately be investing in this when my Mac runs out...

Whilst bored at sixth form inbetween lessons, one of my friends used to make little goblets, plates, cutlery and stuff from things lying around the place, like foil. It is an acquired talent (yes, I have tried, and failed), however nothing like the talent that Peter Callesen has with paper.

His paper cutouts are incredible. I admire and love the work of Rob Ryan also, but Callesen has a way with making paper into 3D shapes that look real, and playing on the effect that it makes when he cuts the shapes from 2D, creating a shadow for the newly created 3D piece. I particularly love the humour that he includes in the idea behind his pieces. Maybe this man could lend me some of his patience?

Bottega Veneta have always been known for their ability to weave both fabric and leather in magical ways. Although they are famous for their Intrecciato weave, seen in their many collections of woven bags, it was Tomas Maier's fabulous pleating design that really caught my eye back in 2007. I absolutely love this dress, in fact, I love the whole photograph. The technique he has used for this design is extremely difficult (trust me, I have tried it), and I just love the way the whole picture conveys a forgotten glamour, almost Hepburn-ish, of days gone by. There is no need for embellishment or over the top print to convey luxury, the quality and technique says it all. Understated glamour at its Italian finest.

Whilst researching photographers for my photography brief, I stumbled across Glynis Arban, a self-taught photographer from the States. And I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love her work, particularly the serene shots towards the bottom of this collage on the paler background. She has a fascinating way of capturing movement, yet the images look so serene and calm. The simplicity of the photos is beautiful, and although she has not had much work published as of yet, she will definately be my photographer of choice for this brief. Now I just have to find a brand to suit her style...

Louise Roe correctly pointed out at LFWE that there is a current divide between the sexes. Harem, hareem, aladdin or peg leg, whatever you want to call them, the trouser shape of the season is causing major arguments between male and female. I can relate to this disagreement - my boyfriend, although normally quite open to fashion, and well trained might I add, seems to think that these trousers are only for those with stomach problems. No matter in what context I show them to him, be it casual with ballet flats, or tailored with heels, his jury is out. Let me know what you think. Personally, I love these American Retro harem pants from Harvey Nichols that Louise herself, sported, which were also featured in the April edition of British Vogue.

Model of My Moment :

Julia Stegner is, well, gorgeous. With her long flowing locks (and long, flowing legs, might I add), she fits perfectly onto the runway of lingerie giant Victoria's Secret. Add to that a succession of Vogue covers, catwalk shows and even a Hugo Boss TV commercial, not only is Julia an incredibly successful supermodel, but it is simple to see why. Julia looks like the ethereal type model that would be seen on a Chloé advertisement: this was as I had suspected, she appeared in the Spring Summer adverts for the fashion house. My liking for Chloé has gone up once more, and I hope that they will use Stegner again sometime, as she is... beautiful.

'Save Mary-Kate' :

Who would have thought that the two t-shirts above (by former company Randy & Moss) were actually the inspiration for the hugely successful slogan tees by Henry Holland. And that Henry has no background in fashion design, and studied journalism at university. This man obviously likes to suprise and impress.

His t-shirt range kicked off after his good mate Gareth (yes, only Gareth Pugh), made jokes about the idea, and Holland jokingly said that he would make a t-shirt about him. Then came about 'UHU GARETH PUGH'. Another high profile fashionista friend that Henry just happens to have, is of course, Agyness Deyn. Yet even with so many high profile friends, and a successful journalism career and fashion collection under his belt, Holland is still down to earth. When asked what keeps him going, he replied 'Pro Plus'.

After getting a rather critical comment from Sarah Mower on the first show of t-shirt dresses, Holland decided to take his brand further and created the 'Stephanie and AXL' collection. The rest, as they say, is history. I particularly love the 'Sex, Lies and Volleyball' SS09, shown below.

To start off his fashion business, Mrs Holland gave her aspiring son £500. He bought... a pair of shoes. A man true to my own heart!

Whatever anyone says, Polaroid will never go out of fashion. There's just something about the colour and quality of the photos that screams old school, and the magical way in which your photo appears in seconds, just makes it so unique. The Phoebe Philo phase of Chloé history is undoubtedly my personal favourite. Other designers have replaced her, been and gone, and consequently my lust for the brand became indifferent. Central St Martins graduate Hannah McGibbon, however, may be finally changing my mind.

I particularly love the one-shoulder, hareem trouser trend duo and the safari style flowing chiffon skirts. I'll be watching this space in anticipation.

Man to Admire :

Dylan Jones, for his impeccable style, impressive track record, and unexpected humour.

As editor in chief at the infamous GQ magazine, I expected a harsh, driven and unforgiving personality to stand before me at the Creative Career's Summit, held today at the University of Derby. Hosting a lecture on climbing the ladder of success in the newspaper and magazine industry, I found Dylan to be a charming, witty man - successful and driven, he was, unapproachable, he was not. As someone who has dreamt of working for a magazine since learning to read and write, it is comforting to know that the editors at large of these fantastical creations are not always the Miranda Priestlys or Daniel Meades that the media often make them out to be. After talking openly about his career and how he has found the industry to be, Mr Jones welcomed questions from students, and even kindly stuck around after for any that were to nervous to ask in front of such a big audience. It is refreshing to see this in someone that has been so successful; so thankyou, Dylan Jones.

Her effortlessly cool music has been chanelling our radio waves for some time now : Paris is Burning, and My Delirium being two successes. Summer Love Love Lovin :

I don't normally blog about music, but I am far too excited by the rumours for Leeds fest '09 to leave it out. The Strokes, forming a comeback this year after multiple solo projects makes me too happy for words; I saw them headline at the 02 festival at Hyde Park many years ago... they were amazing. The best band I've ever seen live. Not stopping the anticipation there, Arctic Monkeys are also rumoured to be making an appearance, as their new album is due out later this year. After seeing Last Shadow Puppets live last year, and watching the 'Arctic Monkeys Live at the Apollo' film, I am sure they will be brill live. Also fuelling the butterflies in my stomach is the rumour that the organisers of Reading and Leeds have begged the Libertines to reunite for this year's festival only. I've seen Dirty Pretty Things twice... Babyshambles rocked the NME stage at last years Leeds, and I love all Libertines' stuff... Please Carl, say yes. In the mean time I better get saving for those coveted weekend tickets.

London Rocks :

Thanks to my lovely boyfriend, MerryMerry and I travelled down to the fabulous London town on Saturday, 7th March, for none other than London Fashion Weekend. The catwalk was undoubtedly the best bit - Louise Roe, star of Vogue TV ironically presented the show (LFWE was sponsored by Elle Magazine this year!), and she looked gorgeous, wearing on-trend printed hareem pants, a slouchy blazer and bangles galore. Oh, and some mighty-high, fabulous shoes.

American Idol, Domestic Goddess, African Queen and Ethereal Nude were the season's chosen trends to showcase, Domestic Goddess being my fave, particularly the dramatic butterfly sunnies, by Oliver Goldsmith.

Although I wished the catwalk would never end, it has spurred on my drive to be a part of this industry, and to be backstage, organising models at London Fashion Week itself. One day, people, one day.

Plea to La Lohan :

Bring your curves back!

In a world dominated by fashion, image and size zero models, it is difficult to love what you've been given, but these photos of the usually gorgeous Lindsay Lohan at the opening of Matthew Williamson's new store in New York made me very sad. Lindsay, where have your curves gone? How long has it been since you last ate? Surely, there is no way of becoming this slim, this fast, whilst still eating? I've noticed that in some photos, she is pictured with Rachel Zoe, notorious for suggesting size zero be the norm, and the rest of us... well, we're fat. Durr.

I grew up with La Lohan in Parent Trap, I loved that film and I loved her. However, I feel for girls growing up nowadays... will they think that this is normal? Size zero, body obsession? I really hope not. On a lighter note, here's some photos of Lindsay as her beautiful, curvy self, to remind us that we don't have to be painfully thin to be fabulous. And as Mark Darcy announces perfectly, men will 'Love you just the way you are'.
